Education Scholarship Program
Hope Relief Nepal

Talent doesn't check a family's bank balance before it shows up — but opportunity often does. Across Nepal, countless bright, capable students are forced to abandon their education not because they lack ability, but because their families simply cannot afford school fees, books, or further studies. Hope Relief Nepal's Education Scholarship Program exists to remove that barrier, supporting genuinely deserving students from Grade 1 all the way through to MBBS, so that financial hardship never becomes the reason a child's future is cut short.

Our Approach

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all support. A child in primary school and a student pursuing medicine have very different needs, so our scholarship program is structured in stages, following students through each critical phase of their academic journey.

Primary Education (Grade 1–8)
At this foundational stage, we cover school fees, uniforms, books, and essential learning materials. Our goal here is simple: make sure no child drops out before they've even had a real chance to discover their potential.

Secondary Education (Grade 9–12)
As academic and financial pressures increase, we continue supporting tuition, examination fees, and study materials — helping students stay in school through some of the most decisive years of their education, when many families are otherwise tempted to pull children out for work.

Higher Secondary and Undergraduate Studies
For students who qualify for college or university, we extend support toward tuition fees, accommodation where necessary, and academic resources — enabling capable students to pursue degrees in fields they're genuinely passionate about, rather than settling for whatever they can afford.

Medical Education (MBBS)
For exceptional students with a demonstrated commitment to medicine, we provide scholarship support toward MBBS studies — one of the most expensive and demanding academic paths in Nepal. We believe that a student's dream of becoming a doctor shouldn't be decided by their family's income, especially when that student may one day return to serve the very communities that once couldn't afford to send them to school.

Who We Support

Our scholarships are reserved for students who genuinely need them — not simply those who ask. Each candidate goes through a careful selection process that considers:

Financial need — Verified family income and household circumstances
Academic merit — Consistent performance and genuine commitment to learning
Personal circumstances — Orphaned children, children of widows, or those from otherwise vulnerable households are given particular priority
Long-term potential — A genuine likelihood that support will translate into real academic and life outcomes, not just short-term relief
Why This Matters

Educating one child rarely stops with just one child. A student who completes school goes on to support siblings, contribute to their family's income, and often becomes the first in their family to break a generational cycle of poverty. A doctor trained through this program doesn't just build a career — they often return to treat patients in the very villages and communities that shaped them. Every scholarship we award is, in a real sense, an investment in Nepal's future, not just one student's.

Our Commitment

We stay involved beyond just paying fees. Our team tracks each scholarship recipient's academic progress, checks in on challenges they may be facing, and where needed, connects them with additional support — mentorship, tutoring, or guidance on career paths. A scholarship from Hope Relief Nepal isn't a one-time transaction; it's a relationship that continues until a student reaches their goal.

Looking Ahead

With the continued generosity of our donors and partners, Hope Relief Nepal aims to expand this program each year — reaching more deserving students across more districts, and following more of them all the way from their first day of school to the moment they walk into a classroom, a workplace, or a hospital ward as the professional they worked so hard to become
